Blood On Your hands by Xerces Blood On Your hands by Xerces
..Because your actions have consequences.

I don't want to lay a moral on thickly here. For now, this is a concept. I don't really agree with war or violence, but I found these grenade-shaped bottles and thought I could show people the consequences. How something so small can be so destructive. There isn't enough space in one of these to hold the blood lost when one goes off. Hence- You have blood on your hands.
If you're pro-war, don't give me crap here. If you're anti-war, don't praise me.
This isn't saying 'War is bad- we should all disarm and live in the trees'. Nor is it glorifying death or killing.
Just be aware, whatever weapon you pick up in malice, you'll have blood on your hands.

The bottles contained an energy drink called 'Bomba'. The dark layer in it a mix of glycerine and black ink with a layer of red coloured water on top.
More pictures will be on their way in due time.

I give my full permission for =TaintedArt to display this deviation in the club's gallery.

This is NOT Stock photography. You do not have permission to use this image.

Read-
All blood and injuries in this PHOTOGRAPH is entirely fake. It is a display of FX make up and is not depicting any kind of self-harm, nor is it condoning it or glorifying any act of self-harm in any way. Please respect this at all times.

This is interesting, it can be interpreted in several ways... when I looked at it I thought that it was actually a bomb filled with blood, that one would throw at people and make them bloody without hurting them, although it's a more obscure interpretation, and I don't know why one would do that. Yes? No. I dunno.

Anyway, thanks for posting!

I love the fact that it says "bomba" on the bottle, the blood looks great, do you mind giving me tips on how to make blood?

anyways the only downside of this piece would be the backgroud wich softens the image to much taking away the "crude" element from the concept.

It is a great picture overall.

Actually I think a clean white background would make it stand out more.

I'd like to know what ingredients you use for the blood.

well, here, the stuff inside the bottle is just red food colouring mixed with water, but the stuff down the side is food colouring and PVA glue. it works really well, it's thick but it can dry quickly.
I also use one mix with glycerine and red food colouring. that stuff is really runny

hmmm....not enough to hold all the blood in. I think we all have blood on our hands, the world is at fault and we are all a part of it. The way I see it, there is no more space for blood and junk inspide of us, so now we stain everything around us. Nicely done.

That bottle is fucking amazing - I want that drink just so I can collect the bottles. I like the meaning behind the picture. I strongly believe that doing shitty things to people will result in shitty things happening to you (not you-you, people-you) even if it's only the result of your own remorse.

In the way of constructive criticism...

I would say give the piece more backlight if you're going to reshoot it. It will play up the red hues in it much better. And maybe display it against a pure white background... That will give it a more shocking appearance.

Other than that it's a very good concept, even if you aren't making a truly political stance on it.

If you aren't planning on reshooting, maybe play with it in photoshop... Play up the reds and try to bring the lightening up.

I need to get some fabric for backgrounds actually. have been busy lately! i'm thinking this one needed a re-shoot with a brighter light too. I'll see what i can do. thanks for the comment. it is most appreciated.

Good concept - and using an energy drink called Bomba as a grenade! :)

Remember also that the power of potent weapons gives the holder is a form of high for some, both as individuals and as leaders of states. Highly addictive and corrosive to the human psyche all told.

Peace :peace:
