Artist's Comments

My original plans for a photo earlier on today were trashed when I realised the pack of red feathers I bought had gotten pretty nailed, meaning only one entire wing could be made from them, rather than two.
But not to worry. I feel this concept works well because the mannequin looks sad to see a wing in pieces.
I used red feathers because I love the combination of red and black. A large number of black feathers and more red feathers will be used to make a pair of feather wings in the not too distant future.
I hope you guys like it.
Wooden mannequin, blu-tack and red feathers.

This is really lovely. Once more, you create something with a still life and photography that reminds me of why I love your artwork so much.
The colours are brilliant :B

I love the use of the wooden figurine, because he/she/it is so empty and faceless.. perfect for having fallen from grace/lost a wing/having your heart broken :)
