It took a few days to put together, but here is the tutorial to make your own Caekosaurus Rex cake!
I've worked out how much icing this baby used in total, and I must have used over a kilo of icing sugar O_o
A diabetic friend did eat some of the cake, and survived to tell the tale, but don't go overdosing. Another friend that had a piece reported a sugar hangover the following morning :B

Alas, I didn't win anything, but I hope anyone making this cake links me to it, since that will keep me happy :)

The final product!

Please use and download, but please fave it if you do. A lot have work has gone into this.
I hope it is informative and helpful enough to follow. Good luck!

An initial proofread was carried out, but there are still a couple of typos I'll sort out.

I'm making this for my little cousin's birthday. Thank you, he loves dinosaurs. Would substituting the icing for the jam work too?

on the outside? I'm sure jam would still work, yes. I do hope he likes it! Best of luck with it :D

As I said, I'm attempting to make this for my friend's birthday tomorrow. As in, I'm in the middle of making it right now xD Me and two friends have had a very frantic day, being on a sugarhigh from the amount of icing we've eaten and the fact that his head has almost fallen over twice (and in the end both his tail and head broke xDD)
Our icing has gone very smushy from the amount of times he's had to be rescued. But he's almost done, just the spines to do now xD
And you will definitely get a photo of our dinosaur (probably more crocodile like) in the end [:

But we've had a very fun day so who cares if he doesn't look perfect xDDD

Oh, I can't wait to see it!
And I can understand your problems! Mine went through a lot of problems as well. When it was finished, I noticed later that it had some subsidence around the head, and I ended up using a piece of spare cake to hold the head and neck up- it then just looked like it was chewing on a piece of cake!
And even if it's not perfect, I'm sure it looks awesome. Mine is nowhere near perfect, but I still loved it =D
Thanks so much for using the tutorial as well! It means a lot that it's actually been useful
