It took a few days to put together, but here is the tutorial to make your own Caekosaurus Rex cake!
I've worked out how much icing this baby used in total, and I must have used over a kilo of icing sugar O_o
A diabetic friend did eat some of the cake, and survived to tell the tale, but don't go overdosing. Another friend that had a piece reported a sugar hangover the following morning
Alas, I didn't win anything, but I hope anyone making this cake links me to it, since that will keep me happy

Our icing has gone very smushy from the amount of times he's had to be rescued. But he's almost done, just the spines to do now xD
And you will definitely get a photo of our dinosaur (probably more crocodile like) in the end [:

And I can understand your problems! Mine went through a lot of problems as well. When it was finished, I noticed later that it had some subsidence around the head, and I ended up using a piece of spare cake to hold the head and neck up- it then just looked like it was chewing on a piece of cake!
And even if it's not perfect, I'm sure it looks awesome. Mine is nowhere near perfect, but I still loved it
