Exposed computer chip pendants by Xerces Exposed computer chip pendants by Xerces
ZOMG! My first jewellery collaboration! I was stoked to find *AphexPhoton was interested in making jewellery, so this is our first jewellery collaboration- or our first pair, since there are two pendants here!
This is a pair of resin pendants made using recycled computer chips from old computer motherboards. The chips have been filed down and polished to expose the copper circuit inside, making a beautiful pattern. These pendants have been glazed to keep the polish. We got the idea from a friend that was experimenting with some of his own computer chips- he loved the pieces we created!
I think it's about time I used some of the resin I bought to make jewellery and accessories!

These pendants are both available to buy on etsy, and can be found here and here

rather fanceh. never knew that a chip would look like that under the plastic...

an interesting one would be to get an EPROM chip - it has a hole in the top so it can be reprogrammed using UV light =)

i do have some old prototype ICs laying around with the heads actually fully removed showing the bear silicon i might have some fun making earrings with them but there rather small

also if you need any electronic component i have more than i know what to do with and most ... like chips are just scrap

i have more motherboards than i know what to do with, i have completely stripped clean boards, thousands of useless components includign stripped SMD chips and smd components, old shops and circuit boards of prototypes that failed, memory cards, hard drive plates, motors, resistors, caps whathaveyou XD
and just cover atleast some shipping and there yours i have zero use for most of it and i have been meaning to clean

im thinking of making some digital functional jewelery ... would be fun XD
