FAQ #223: Can I catch Swine Flu from deviantART?Can I catch Swine Flu from deviantART?Yes. All efforts are being undertaken by deviantART's core staff and The devious technology team to ensure that deviants will have minimum risk while browsing the site. All deviants are warned that the virus can be found anywhere on the site, so we ask that deviants do not visit areas unless it is deemed 100% necessary.
Fella is currently in quarantine to stop him contracting the virus.
Message CentresIndividual deviant message centres have had disinfectant soaked mats places at the entrance, as well as an alcohol hand rub. Please do not remove these mats, and make sure that the rub is used each time you enter your message centre. This will minimise the spread of the virus.
Please ensure you have a healthy supply of water, food, tissues and paracetamol in case you are struck down with the virus.
Any messages found to be supporting the virus will be 'flagged as spam' and burned at the will of the core staff.
Please be vigilant in reporting these messages to the
Help desk.
Contracting swine fluAs noted, swine flu can be found on any part of the site, so it is best to be wary about where you are going on the site. Remember to take an alcohol hand rub with you if you venture into the galleries, forums or chatrooms.
If you feel you have contracted the virus, please contact the
Help desk immediately. You will be sent to be diagnosed and also given strict instructions to follow so that you will not infect other deviants.
DiagnosisDeviants will be required to visit the diagnosis chatroom
#doctor for a check up. You will be noted with an approximate time and date to attend. If you cannot make your appointment, please reply to the staff member that sent it. When you enter, please note your symptoms to the core staff so that you can be assessed.
Please note that deliberately missing your appointment will result in automatic quarantine.
QuarantineAny deviants found to have contracted swine flu will be quarantined for 7 days in their message centre. They will be able to send and receive messages, but will be unable to venture into the galleries, forums or chatrooms. Other user pages will not be accessible, so please use the note system if you need to contact individual deviants, as you will be unable to leave a message on their page.
Chatroom and forum closureA swine flu pandemic is a high risk on a popular worldwide community, so strict rules will have to be adhered to minimise the risk to deviants. This may include the closure of popular chatrooms and forums until the risk levels have been reduced.
Message Network Operators (MN@s) will spend the closure time spraying the chatrooms with disinfectant to ensure the virus does not spread. When the chatrooms and forums are re-opened, please ensure that you step onto the disinfectant mat and use the alcohol hand rubs supplied.
Gallery ClosureGalleries may be closed for a short period of time while Gallery Moderators (GMs) disinfect any areas of the galleries that have been named as virus hotspots. Please note that people coughing and sneezing in the galleries may be asked to leave. You may also be invited to the diagnosis chatroom,
#doctor, for an early appointment.
Please note that submissions may be suspended for a short period of time as well.
MasksFor a short period, you may order a limited edition deviantART swine flu mask which can be found
here. These masks are beautifully adorned with the deviantART logo.
These are limited edition, and there are only 50,000 available, so be sure to get your order in as soon as possible so that it can be delivered to you quickly.
Glad you liked it!
And I'm sad to say that I actually clicked on the #doctors link....just to make sure it wasn't a real chatroom
Nice work, I never truly thought anything this funny could come from on of the MN@.
Best thing ever.
