Out Of Control- II by Xerces Out Of Control- II by Xerces
From my series of pictures named with a song title Out of Control- The Chemical Brothers
The second of two pictures for this song.
Out Of Control- I

Again, focussing with layers of glass involved isn't fun :-(
Fake blood and liquidised tissue.
Some of you may notice that this is a WKD bottle. I thought that would add a little twist to their hook "have you got a WKD side?" It also took a few attempts to break tha bottle in the way I had visualised for the shot, so there is now a couple of dessimated bottles sitting in the old coal shed in the back yard. If anything, it is an improvement to the general shit in there already _

This picture is showing how things got out of control. Interpret it how you will.

The words that inspired it:
Sometimes I feel that I'm misunderstood,
The river's running deep right through my blood.
Your naked body's lying on the ground,
You always get me up when I'm down.

And it always seems we're running out of time.
We're out of control,
Out of control. Out of control.

It may be that I'm just scared of losing you,
Or maybe it's the things you make me do.
It seems to me we both should hang around,
And raise the population of this town.

And it always seems we're running out of time.
We're out of control,
Out of control. Out of control. Out of control.
But it doesn't mean we're too far down the line.

We're out of control,
Out of control.

Just a quick message to inform you that your piece has been featured in the A, B, C's of Horror under the letter "Q". Q is for Quarrel, after all.

Beautiful...in a sad, twisted way I guess. It's amazing how you got the blood on the bottle to look so real.

well, believe it or not, it took a long time to 'decorate' the bottle to make it look that way. it's a combination of red, blue and green food colouring mixed with PVA glue, water, liquidised tissue (it got really soggy) which forms the lumps in it. i also needed some parts to dry before i could carry on painting it with PVA.
the lighting does help too.
thanks very much for your comment. i'm glad you like it

This is fucking fantastic. I love the composition, first of all, the suggested story behind it. But also the blood itself, the bottle. It's brutal. The lighting is dark enough to set a good atmosphere but not so dark that you can't see what's going on.

Wonderful job, babe! :)

thanks so much! the bottle was broken into our coal shed out back (it's full of bits of everything- nails, glass, wood, splinters...) and i tried to show the really shardy long part with the goop on it. Glad you noticed everything, and I'm so glad you like it :-)

This is just pure evil and I love it to bits. It looks like a still from a horror movie, and there's just so much menace in the darkness.

thanks so much. i was using so much water and fake blood that the tissue just turned to mush and slid down the glass of its own accord.
Glad you like it :-)

This is nice, that bottle looks really griming like somebody already took out half the neighbourhood on some psychotic rampage.

mmh how can one not love this? Well, to be honest i just got slapped by one of my friends for looking at dark and gloomy things again. But this is to darn nice to stay away from.

Was just having a look at some of your old stuff... and damn your skills have really improved. Can still sense the emotion but these new ones look so darn pro. You know, the only thing i miss is those poems of yours =)

yeah. interestingly, my inspiration for poetry has just gone. maybe cos i'm a lot happier than i used to be...
i hope you weren't berated too severely for looking at it. I'm glad you think i've improved. i'm trying my best to improve as much as possible. i think my standards have gone up a lot since back then- i.e. if i don't get a photo i'm happy with in a shoot, i scrap the lot and do it all again... i'm too picky now!

Anyway, thank you again. I value your comments so much!

And that is the way to go if you wanna’ make good pictures! I think it's quite necessary to be picky. Mh, and know how the poem thing goes. Most of the time it really is a media for sad feelings.

Well, glad my comments are not all off and taken as crazy ramble

take care hun
