The concept here is rather simple: The wooden figure is a big tree-hugging eco-warrior, and we can see his love, but the irony is that he's made out of wood. *gasp* I'm not big of all this eco crap. I do the things I think matter, and to be honest, saving the trees and stopping deforestation is one big thing we need. They're the only things that are gonna take up all the carbon dioxide we're breathing out, so why not. Getting rid of trees means we have less oxygen being given out by them Recycling is also a good idea. This touches on the hypocrisy of being 'eco'. All the time the news programs broadcast 'you have an epic carbon footprint' news by sending their reporters out to a remote places- only accessible by non eco-friendly means. You can't say 'Save the Trees' when you're made out of wood.
So for once, be kind to the planet! Recycle and save the freaking trees! (I can also be happy with the fact the little mannequin is made of FSC approved wood from sustainable forests.)

This is so awesome. I love the concept and I completely agree with it. I try to be as eco-friendly as possible, and I get teased about it by my friends all the time. lol. So this made me smile.
Great concept, and great message, and beautiful photo! I love these colors against each other!
sweet. it's the only thing i have space for in my room in the way of plants. it's sitting in a wine bottle

Nice concept Kitty - good luck with the competition.
On the carbon dioxide take up - We thinks the marine phytoplankton outmass the trees by orders of magnitude... but they are not so easy to hug in a demonstrative way - and are crap for things like furniture and too damp to set fire to and... well We think you get the picture.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

My room is filled with books, lots of electronic equipment and the only free space is actually a couple of shelves, that are almost empty :]
