Stardust by Xerces Stardust by Xerces
w00t! My first macro using my new, swanky macro lens. Today was the first change I've had to test it out, so I went on the hunt for tiny things to take pictures of. For those that are dubious this is a macro, the glass vial is a doll's house accessory and is about 2cm tall. The stars are glitter stuff kids stick to their face. I acquired them randomly like most of my other stuff =D
The red background is a red marabou feather. The white background, however is one of the bound copies of my dissertation :giggle: I felt like I needed to shove it to the work that stopped me doing this for so long. I love my new lens!

In full res- those stars are epic!
No image editing- Only put into photoshop to add the frame and watermark (as usual) and to convert from RAW.

Done with a Canon EFS 60mm f/2.8 macro usm lens.

Hope my first one is okay! Please let me know what you think!!

This is NOT stock photography. You do not have permission to use this image.

not at all love
i just goof off with those droplets because i lack ambition to do real photography

plus i get to sit on my can cozily int eh house where i can control the environment and have my vodka in front of my at the same time

:huggle:

i must say again though that these little ornaments look so much better with a bit of space between them and the lens.
otherwise you pick up on all the ugly flaws you cannot see with the naked eye. thats been my problem.
i'll give it a try some time.

The little bottle is a dolls house miniature item I bought on ebay- they're just tiny jars that come with a cork/wooden lid :D

This is a *wonderful* macro!! I love how it's such an extreme contrast to your horror work.. it's so cute and adorable and 'stardusty' :D This has great detail, great contrast, and great sharpness. Great macro.. can't wait to see more!

i fancied the blurry edges this time to make the pic a little more dreamy. I'm doing more experimenting with the depth of field =D thanks for the advice!
