From my series of pictures named with a song title Until It Sleeps- Metallica

Firstly: THIS IS PHOTOGRAPHY not photomanipulation
My god, was I excited to get this done! I bought the rose earlier today with the perfect shot in mind, and I got it.
This took a long time and a lot of preparation. I had the stalk of the rose stuck to the underside of my hand while I fixed on the rose head =|
A bit of a weird concept for the song you may say. Well, as I'm told, James Hetfield wrote the song about cancer, after his mother died.
As you can see, I didn't completely blood up the leaves. The illusion here isn't meant to be that I've stabbed the rose into my hand, the illusion is that it grew...
Critique discouraged, as I am perfectly happy with this image :-)

I couldn't think of something necessarily evil when someone is cut open and poured out, so the rose can be however you'd like to interpret it. I see the rose here as a parasite. It has the colour of blood..

To be honest, I have seen an image such as this (with the rose through the hand.. but with the blood added on in photoshop) somewhere here on deviantArt..... But this version is by far 100 times better.

you make your own?? wow I wish I could do that... the only reason i havent used any blood in my images is due to my bank balance being zero... come to think of it.. i dont even have a bank account yet heh heh

it's not too hard. the main stuff i use is PVA glue + food colouring
