I've been ridiculously incredibly stupidly busy recently. Work has been a series of days made of arduous. I barely get a moment to myself, these days! But, in the small amount of free-time I've had, I've been getting jewellery made and photos taken of them all. But firstly, please do not credit me with making the butterfly wings! Alas, I am not that awesome with the fimo, yet!
I've missed summer so much. We've barely had one in the UK for the past couple of years. Thankfully, this year was not such a washout, and we got to enjoy some warmth and sunshine. And there were so many butterflies about. I've forgotten how cute they are! Since we don't seem to have great summers, I decided to make a vial inspired by meadow walks. Of course, I have the obligatory reindeer moss, but something more was needed. I took a look through some of my jewellery bits and pieces to find some fimo sticks for nail art I bought ages ago and never used. The nail art included some butterflies, so I decided to make them a little more 3D and added them to small pieces of twig inside glass vials. The result is this! It was so hard to get all the stuff inside the vial, but I managed it in the end. It seems due to the poor lighting of the UK that the graininess in these pics makes the vials look dirty. They got polished just before I took the shots Once I work out how to add antennae and legs to these babies, they shall look a little bit better!
So adorable and it really makes me think of the summers spent at one of the family cabins and just wandering in the surrounding forest, exploring and just enjoying the nature.
It's be great if you'd make one with a night-ish theme too.. maybe with a luna moth
I just took a look at a Luna moth online- they are so pretty! I'll see what I can do about a night version
I always Love Looking at your latest Art!
