One thing after another
Yet again work is a big pile of crap- but then it didn't stop being crap.
The atmosphere here is to pathetically tense, and everyone here appears to be getting driven into the ground. It's just one thing after another.
After a legion of corrections we were given for out work, over half of them are wrong. We're told 10+5+2+1 does not equal 18. WHAT?!
Today we find out that the contract we've been working on for months is missing samples. Why? because no one was told we had a quota of samples to complete- we were just told 1 in 3 samples to be missed out (which is exactly what was done)- but that doesn't reach our quota that we were just told about 5 minutes ago
Anything else you're going to spring on us? Perhaps that we're never going to be paid in full again? Are there any more differences in corrections to our work? Any more completely opposite views? Any more accusing staff of theft without any evidence? More taking a fuckload of time off when your employees can't?
This job as so drastically changed my views on work and geology that I don't want to be doing this any more. That means geology at all. I'm sick of the politics, I'm sick of the accusations, sick of the pay and I'm sick of the shit atmosphere.
I now want to be my own boss and have my own company. A bit of a drastic change.

The thing annoying me the most is the epic difference in the proof-reading of our work. Two of the directors are checking our work for mistakes and correct us if we've made a mistake (usually what proofreading is for- nothing is perfect the first time round.)
Here is an example of the difference to their checking:
Why are the image captions so long? Just abbreviate them if you can- just add "p.f. illite" instead of 'pore filling illite'
Why have you missed hydrocarbon staining from the image captions? Please add "hydrocarbon stained" to the 'pore filling illite'
Can it get any more opposite than that?!
And when it isn't differences in proof-reading, it is the ALL-CAPS UBER IMPORTANT STUFF THAT JUST LOOKS LIKE A BARRAGE OF SHOUTING, EVEN THOUGH CAPS ARE HARDER TO READ THAN LOWER CASE.

Other stuff
Nothing much is going on in my life- here's a short list of other stuff
Been stock-piling more jewellery designs.
Its summer and they have heating on full-blast on Merseyrail trains.
Weather has been a bit pathetic recently- rain and little else.
Looks like summer has moved on already cos it's getting cold again now.
People are still treating me like I'm some kind of machine that locks threads and moderates chatrooms 24 hours a day. I'm not a machine. I'm not made of eyes.
I love weekends.
Photography is slow I'm afraid. I'm tearing my hair out wanting to do photos, but it's so fucking dark every day- I can't do shit in this light.
I am in desperate need of sleep
Yesterday was utter crap in all respects. 5.30am wake up, 1 mile walk to station, 3 train rides, 1 mile walk, full working day, epic amount of rain while waiting for a train, shelters reek of piss, get soaked, late train back home.
